California’s court modernization extends to Orange County
For the Record (FTR) has recently been awarded the contract to provide courtroom electronic recording equipment, software and services for the Superior Court of California, County of Orange.
The project covering 66 courtrooms will be the Company’s third rollout for the Superior Court of California, after successful installations in 130 courtrooms across Los Angeles and Contra Costa over the past year.
For The Record’s Chief Technology Officer and President – Americas, Tony Douglass said FTR was proud to partner with Orange County and the US’s largest state court system to improve access to timely justice and gain case processing efficiencies.
“As part of this project, our premier digital court recording software, FTR Gold will be installed in all courtrooms – backed by a hardware refresh with modern sound reinforcement and on-site and remote maintenance and support,” Tony said.
Existing California Law and Rules of Court allow for the recording of certain court proceedings in lieu of a Court Reporter transcribing the verbatim proceedings.
In line with FTR’s contract with the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, all counties in California are now able to purchase FTR’s digital court recording solutions under the same contract.
